Operating systems are supplied on an autoplay boot disc.

An Operating System boot disc will give you the choice of:

1. Using the Operating system from the Cd/DVD. (This will be much slower than installing but will prove a valuable pointer to evaluating the Linux operating system).
2. Installing the Operating system as a stand alone Operating system. (This will format your hard drive, erasing all previous system files)
3. Installing the operating system alongside your Windows (Or other) Operating system. This will partition your hard drive, giving you the choice of partition sizes. You will need to choose which Operating system you wish to use every time you boot the computer or laptop.
